Mount Sip'an (Armenian: Սիփան {Sipan}, Նեխ Մասիք {Negh Masik}, Ծիպան {Tzipan}, Սուփխան ;Turkish: Süphan Dağı; Kurdish: Sîpana Xelatê) is a second highest mount of Armenian Highlands with an elevation of 4,058 m. (13,314 feet). Sip'an is historical (Armenian) name for this mountain. After the Armenian genocide 1915-1923 Turks, leading the state program aimed to replace all Armenian toponyms with Turkish ones, renamed the mountain to Süphan in order to alter to Turkish transcription.
