  • West Side Social Club sponsors the children's activities in the morning of the 4th of July, which includes a competition for the best decorated tricycle, bicycle, stroller, etc. Since 1980, the Wakefield Independence Day Committee, a totally unrelated non-profit organization, has organized and raised funds for the Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 5 pm every year on July 4th, at the intersection of North Avenue and Quannapowitt Parkway in Wakefield. The Parade is indeed the largest 4th of July Parade in Massachusetts
