Bastille Square (Place de la Bastille) (Paris)

Place de la Bastille is a public square in Paris, France. It is named after the Bastille Saint-Antoine, the French prison which once stood there; it was stormed on 14 July 1789 during the French Revolution. Today, it is home to the Opéra Bastille, a modern opera house. It is served by the Paris Métro lines 1, 5 and 8.
