Amarapuram Lake

One of the biggest lake in Anantapur dt.In the years 1950to1960 . This was the only drinking water source for the entire town. People use to carry drinking water from the only available well near this lake.This tank is having a capacity to hold water for nearly one year. since this is a dry area the rainfall was very low and people use to face lot of water shortage .
In recent years government of Andhra predesh has taken action to provide drinking water by drilling bore wells.
