You guys probably don't realize that before 1981 this used to be a post graduate hostel. Then it was opened up to the undergraduates and we were the first batch to move in. It was great to not share your rooms any more with anyone else and be able to watch the clock tower while sleeping the classes away.
Then things changed and I understand this was turned into ladies hostel...

How come?
I stayed in this wing of Pandya Hall between 1981 and '83 end while I was doing M.E. in Civil Engg.
I do not know if or when it opened its doors to undergraduate students.
I also do not know exactly when in which year it was turned into a ladies hostel, but I happened to meet a lady student who lived in the same room between 1989-91 which I had left six years before, on 31 December 1983. What a coincidence! Now she happens to be my best friend!!

This is the best place in BESU.Its a "HOME AWAY FROM HOME".We know that the boys are envious of the facilities available to us.They always long to get inside this hostel..........but in vain.
