15-story Neo-Renaissance cooperative-apartment building completed in 1921. Designed by Schwartz & Gross, it is clad in red variegated reddish-brown brick with limestone trim and a stone water table at the base. Despite the Park Avenue address, the main entrance is centered on the south facade on 38th Street. It has wood-and-glass double-doors below a leaded-glass transom covered by a rounded, green canvas canopy extending out over the sidewalk, and flanked by fluted Corinthian pilasters supporting an entablature wiht a modillioned cornice. The 2nd floor above the entrance has pairs of smaller fluted pilasters framing a single-window topped by a rounded pediment, and fronted by an iron railing on the cornice below. To either side of the entry are two single-windows and two bays of double-windows, along with a bay of smaller bathroom windows between the two eastern double-windows.
At the first two floors each window bay (except for the small bathroom windows) is framed in a 2-story limestone surround with a stone spandrel panel between floors at each bay. The double-windows have dark-grey metal mullions dividing them. The ground floor also has a small secondary entrance below the bay of bathroom windows, with a wood-and-glass door recessed atop a steep set of small, black stone steps.
The 3rd-floor windows have bracketed sills, and the 4th floor is set off by a stone band course with various moldings and a row of rosettes. Above the ground floor, the 2nd-from-east of the five single-windows in the center of the facade is divided into two narrower panes by a metal mullion at each floor. The 4th floor has brick arches above the windows, with stone lintels and keystones. The windows on the floors above have simple stone sills. The 12th floor is underlined by a thin string course and topped by a dentiled band course. Stone spandrel panels between the 13th & 14th floors are adorned with swags, and a thin cornice tops the 14th floor. The penthouse level is set back above the cornice.
The west facade on the avenue follows the same design, but is narrower, with three single-window bays in the center, followed by a small bathroom window and a double-window bay on either side. The ground floor here has a small secondary entrance with a black wood-and-glass door atop a small 3-step stoop, and a black metal service door in two of the middle bays.
The east elevation has several single-window and paired window bays, as well as a couple of small bathroom window bays, and there is a metal fire escape at its northern end. Along the the lobby, there are some medical offices in the ground floor. The building contains 69 apartments.
