This sprawling church building, inaugurated in October, 2005, stands in the place of an older one, of the same name, believed to be originally a private chapel of the Loiola Pereira mansion (whose rooftop is seen on the northern side), before it became a public chapel circa 1750. The chapel was upgraded to a parish church in 1992. A miraculous statue of Our Lady of Livramento is venerated with great devotion in this church.
