Sun Moon Lake

the largest lake in Taiwan as well as a popular tourist attraction. The home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes in Taiwan. 748 meters above sea level.
Sun Moon Lake is incredibly beautiful and is becoming more and more popular with both locals and tourists. There are new, cheap hotels in the area every year and they are inexpensive. Swimming in Sun Moon Lake is illegal, but man people take pontoon boats and rowboats out on it.

There was, before the earthquake a few years back destroyed it, a wonderful French hotel here called Le Midi. Still, the area is fantastically beautiful. Ibelieve it was Shitou (hope I spelled that right) National Park.
