  • But the left part doesn't complete this pentagram, there isn't a left diagonal street.
  • The south point of the pentagram (or star) is also missing. The point would be at or near Pennsylvania Avenue, a short distance north of the White House. However, the streets that form the lines of the pentagram stop at H street, a block above the missing point. The absence of a point conforms with the original plan for the City of Washington, which was made in the early 1790's.
  • Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...
  • plus in DC, there is a compass and ruler, another sign!
  • The pentagram is believed to have been discovered by astronomers in the Tigris-Eurphrates region around 4,000BC. Most notably, it was used by the Pythagorean Greeks. American Masons from the colonial period would surely have been aware of the connection to the Pythagoreans. The sign was also used as part of the official seal of the city of Jerusalem, and has been called Solomon's seal or Solomon's shield. Crusader knights sometimes used the sign on their coats of arms. It has also appeared as a sign for Venus/Ischtar/Astatrte (although the eight-pointed star is probably more common and the two don't seem to have been used simultaneously). The sign's association with magic and the devil appears to date from the Middle Ages. In Nordic countries - which were some of the last areas in Europe to be Christianized - it was drawn on houses as protection against evil. • Wikipedia Washington DC pentagram post: It should certainly be observed that the mathematical [and divine] perfection associated with an actual pentagram, with the proper angles, PERFECT symmetry - and therefore a connection to the divine number, phi, 1.618... - more probably reflects the real, ancient and original meaning of this symbol and of its embodiment of things divine. If Masonic Founding Fathers or others had indeed intended to represent such a symbol in the street patterns of this great and new city of the new world, they surely would have constructed it precisely. This is NOT a pentagram, complete or not. The ancient pentagram was and IS a representation of a magnificent benevolence of such quality and perfection as may only be found in that unknowable, omnipresent and omniscient creator of the Universe and author of all life. Let's not be misled by 19th and 20th century revisionist's imaginations. “What we think, is not confirmed, and what we think not, God contrives.” James M
  • There's another one made of pathways at Disneyworld
  • Ugh, Jame357...it doesn't have to be a perfect pentagram...we all know that when some street plans are laid out, they never form to perfection, as obvious here. The intent of making one in the spirit of the freemasons in the street design of DC is absolutely undeniable!
  • Does anybody know who made the plans of streets ?
  • The interesting part about this is the fact that these streets are actually in the shape of an upside-down pentagram in Washington D.C. of all places. Now that says a lot. How obvious.
