Kyrgyzstan can be safely called a country of transcendental lakes, one of which is located on the southern spurs of the Chatkal Range at an altitude of 2600 m above sea level.
The high mountain lake Kugala (the second name is Kek-Ala) was formed after an earthquake that once occurred.
