  • This Hawai patti is just a patti. Not even apology for an air strip. I have seen this patti in reasonable good condition in 1965! One of the first VIPs to land there in a Dakota, which the Air Force boys used to call "The Flying Coffin", was Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, the one and only Sam Bahadur:)
  • I have seen this too, in about 1985, while on an NCC camp from my school. I recall it very wide and well surfaced, even though unpaved. I remember it being undulating... which intrigued me.
