The BT Tower in London, formerly known as the London Telecom Tower, and originally the Post Office Tower as it was built by the state-owned General Post Office who owned and operated Britain's telephone network until the early 1980s, when it became the privatised British Telecommunications (BT). This Grade II listed building had been sold to a US hotel group for £275m and will be turned into a hotel.
Constructed in 1965, it is a cylindrical building which is 175 metres (574 feet) tall, with a further section of aerial bringing the total height to 188 metres (620 feet)
