King's Norton Junction (Birmingham)

Junction of Stratford and Worcester and Birmingham Canals. Nearby is the unusual Lifford Lane stop lock with vertically-rising "guillotine gates", originally to prevent valuable water from passing from one canal to another.

The Junction House was built 1796 as the tollhouse for the Worcester & Birmingham Canal Co; the tariff board can be seen above the door.
