Meghretsots quarter (Armenian: Մեղրեցոց Թաղ) is one of the 18 quarters of the Armenian sector of the city of Shushi. It was formed at the beginning of the 19th century as a result of the concentration of Armenians speaking the Meghri dialect in it. The quarter had its own church, schools, cultural institutions and a spring. Existed until 1920. During the Shusha massacre, hordes of Caucasian Tatars (Azeris) and Turkish troops broke into it. The quarter was looted and set on fire. Small part of the population managed to break through and leave towards Varanda. The ruins of the quarter existed until 1961. Then they were leveled to the ground by the decision of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan SSR in order to build residential buildings for Azeris.
