The Biological Museum from 1910 has undergone major renovation and reopened in October, 2007. It is now an exciting interactive museum where children can discover and experience nature. Biotopia also serves as a guide to Uppland nature. A permanent exhibition explains the origin of Uppland and dioramas show hundreds of Swedish animals, displayed in true-to-life environments. There is an Uppland lake, a seashore, and many forest types, with animals that are common to each habitat.
