Cheylesmore Range

United Kingdom / England / Windlesham /

The original Cheylesmore Range was opened for the 1948 Summer Olympics, and has by now been built over.
Its namesake successor - in a different spot - is today used for gallery rifle and handgun, with altogether 31 shooting lanes, and is one of the three \'Section 5 approved\' ranges in England and Wales destined for ISSF-style target shooting at 25 metres distance with short cartridge handguns, which is otherwise forbidden.
National pistol squads and elite athletes for Olympic and Commonwealth Games are also training here on occasion. Such (very limited) use is usually conducted under the auspices of \'British Shooting\'.
The long-neglected range was refurbished in late 2016, and a heated multi-purpose room (hut) with some amenities was also added.
