Ancient settlement mound (VII - IV millennium BC - Neolithic, Maritza culture), erected for thousands of years by ancient population living in the fertile lands and pleasant climate. Here are found anthropomorphic figures of people and animals, as well as cult ceramic vessels. Nearby, in Mechi Kladenets ( Bear Fountain) locality, were the first copper mines (V millennium BC - Early and late Chalcolithic). The Copper ore was processed in ingots and tools and served for trade with nearby and distant tribes. In the third millennium BC, when the Thracians lived on these lands, the mound was converted into a terraced cult complex with ritual grounds starting from the eastern side and ending on the top with a temple. It is terraced with massive quadrae walls.
