The 885,000 sq. ft. research campus was constructed in 1999 for Nortel Networks. Following the decline of Nortel the property was acquired by Brookfield Real Estate and Belmont Equity in 2007. In 2008 Bombardier leased part of the former Nortel property to establish its first research centre where they developed their C series and Global 7000 aircraft. Accedian Networks became a tenant in 2011.
