An example of civil architecture, 13 c. Gothic decorations made in 1345-1348 and later in 15-16 cc.. Late gothic portal - 1510-1511.

The Brno Dragon
Teh legend says that once upon a time there used to live a cruel dragon in the river close to the city. To kill it, the people took a sheep, took out the intestinaes and filled its belly quicklime; once the beast wanted to quench its thirst, it drank some water and - exploded. Ovci poté pohodil k řece, kde drak žil. Was thereafter stuffed and hung in the portal of the city hall.

The Wheel
The story says that one guy made a bet that he could make a carriage-wheel and roll it from Lednice to Brno, all in one day; and he did, winning a lumpsum.

Portal - bent decorations
The story says that when the city authorities who ordered the portal refused to pay the agreed amount, a decorative spire bent "all on itself" during the night; and bent it will remain unless and untill the officials will no longer be corrupt. Seems this means "forever".
