grave, archeological site, paleonthology
The former location of Hotel de La Rochefoucauld-Liancourt, which was demolished in 1825. This is where the remains of the infamous Beast of Gevaudan were presumably buried after being examined by Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon in 1767 – at least according to the French Wikipedia. Any attempts of exhumation are currently pointless due to the fact that this area is densely covered with buildings and the search area is too big, covering the territory of at least six buildings and a large part of Rue des Beaux-Arts street.
