  This was the second location of Llewellyn Iron Works, which was originally located in Los Angeles and operated there from 1886 to 1916; a bombing by an Iron Workers Union member, as part of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Iron Workers dynamite campaign, on Christmas Day 1910 caused the move to Torrance. In 1923, Llewellyn Iron Works merged with Columbia Steel and in November 1929 Columbia Steel was purchased by US Steel. US Steel closed the plant during the 1979 Christmas season and never reopened it, with all buildings removed by 1982. American Honda would redevelop and occupy the property in 1990.
