B2, Neelam Park, Fond Memories (Ahmedabad)

Neelam Park Apartments, one of the oldest residential properties in what is now the famous Judges Bungalows Road area in Bodakdev. Neelam Park was developed by Parshottam L. Patel in 1987. At that time, there was absolutely nothing between Neelam Park and the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway. The entire area was an open field, with only Ashray Apartments, Cosmo Ville, Pahalgam Bungalows, Premchand Nagar, Lad Society and Satyagrah Chhavani dotting the vicinity. I shifted to Mumbai in 1993 and later my father, Shri Dushyantbhai V. Desai sold off our duplex apartment, "B2 Neelam Park". The four buildings of the society was affected by the gruesome earthquake and the frequent floods thereafter. But my last visit there revealed that Neelam Park has been restored to its earlier glory, well even better. My parents have settled in Mumbai with me since. However, some of the fondest memories of Neelam Park will remain etched in my heart forever... the eight years of growing up, the friends made there, the wonderful neighbours...
