Known locally as just "The Viaduct," this structure connects Paterson Plank Road in Union City with the local streets in Hoboken. Previous to its construction, the connection involved a winding and narrow road down the side of the Hudson River Palisades, basaltic cliffs forming the west shore of the Hudson River from Jersey City to Haverstraw, NY.
A wall collapsed in 2007 during the flooding rains.
