necropolis, archaeological site
An ancient burial ground dating to the Xiongnu period. The necropolis contains 287 graves visible above ground, 5 of which were investigated thoroughly in 2005, followed by a few others in 2007. The grave goods and construction confirmed the attribution to the Xiongnu, unlike the more impressive enclosures and structures at Kheremt Tal some 7 km to the northwest, which did not yield artifacts that would allow for a secure dating.
