The castle was once owned by Hersee Moody Carson, the childless widow of a multimillionaire, and it was called the "Castle of the Fairy Lady" because she used to hold parties there for orphans on major holidays during the 1930s and 1940s.

  • Beautiful, mature trees on that property. Bigger than those around it. If you use a perspective view on something like Bing's birdseye, you really can see how big they are.
  • love the castle look awesome bulit home, but what do you do with so many rooms????
  • I was in that house in late 1970. There was a 1956 Cadillac under the Portico where a side door opened to a living room with the oldest tv i'd ever seen. The place was furnished, but hadn't been lived in for a while. Depp has had a lot of work done, the only trees back then were some aging palms. And the front of the mansion is facing sunset Blvd. The original entrance is long gone but there are pics on the web. I'd like to see some interior shots if anyone has some, I think the mansion is a lot bigger now.
  • This house listing is old news. It is official, Depp hasn't resided there for many years. Nor was it ever the home of Bela Lugosi. More Hollywood myths at this point. Any tour guide selling tours or false information and maps for this location are frauds.
