Built in 1941 by the Defense Plant Corp and operated by Alcoa. Leased, then purchased by Henry J. Kaiser in 1946 along with the Mead and Tacoma plants.
Located at a distance from the Mead plant to deter concurrent damage or destruction in case Japan managed to get some bombers over the continental US.
Liquid aluminum was trucked here directly from the Mead plant.
