The Northrop Grumman F/A-18 Assembly Line is housed in a historic one-million square foot facility originally built in 1942 from redwood. This plant has produced nearly 12.000 aircraft representing 14 different types. Major structural assemblies are currently produced for the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft. Northrop Grumman (NGC) is the principal subcontractor on both aircraft to Boeing Company, the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 and EA-18G prime contractor.
