Vale dos Ventos Wind Farm is one of the main renewable energy generation projects in Brazil, located in the municipality of Mataraca, on the northern coast of Paraíba. Inaugurated in 2009, the park was initially developed by the Australian company Pacific Hydro and later acquired by SPIC Brasil, a subsidiary of the Chinese state-owned State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).

Technical Characteristics
Installed capacity: 48 megawatts (MW), distributed in 10 units of 4.8 MW each.
Number of turbines: 60 wind turbines, each with a power of 800 kW.
Installation area: The turbines are located on agricultural land used for sugarcane cultivation, occupying only about 5% of the total area, allowing the continuity of agricultural activities.

Energy and Environmental Impact
Supply: The energy generated is sufficient to supply approximately 92,000 homes per year, representing about 2.2% of the electricity consumption of the state of Paraíba in 2017.
Emission reduction: The operation of the park avoids the emission of more than 36.5 thousand tons of greenhouse gases annually.

Operation and Sustainability
The park is recognized for its high operational availability, resulting from a rigorous preventive maintenance program that minimizes interruptions and prolongs the lifespan of the equipment. In addition, the project has international certifications such as ISO 14001 (environmental management), OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety), ISO 55001 (asset management), and ISO 9001 (quality management).
