This is the aircraft viewing area for Albuquerque International. It was moved here after Eclipse Aviation built a new facility on the old site by the end of runway 8. This site has a good view of aircraft landing on runway 3, but terrible views of the rest of the airport.

  • I like to come to this spot to watch the airplanes landing and you're right you can only get good views of aircraft landing on runway 3. I am so sad that they closed that old spot by runway 8. I used to go there when I was a kid. There is another aircraft viewing area by the terminal and you can get good views of aircraft landings and takeoffs and you can see the southwest/northwest and express jet airlines gates from there.
