administrative building, 1937_construction
This is the main building of the University of Texas at Austin. It features a 307-foot tall, 29-story tower, which is one of the most recognizable symbols of the University. It was designed by architect Paul Philippe Cret and completed in 1937.
Each of the four sides bears an enormous gold clock face (each 14 feet across), and the top of the tower also serves as the largest and tallest carillon in Texas, with 56 bells - the largest weighing in at 7,350 lbs.
