Buffalo Gap 2 Wind Farm is located in the 'highlands' southeast of Sweetwater and southwest of Abilene, Texas. The three 'Buffalo Gap' wind farms are on the north side of that area and 'BG2' is the northwestern of the three, roughly straddling the north part of County Road 258. Commissioned in 2007, it consists of 155 GE Energy 1.5sle wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 232.5 MW.
