The former GDR "Centrum" department store, shown in the first photo above, was designed by 2 Hungarian architects in the 70s. It was converted to a Karstadt after the fall of Communism.
When Karstadt moved across the street to a new, larger building the Centrum building was demolished so a mall, "Centrum Galerie", could be built on the site. It has a metallic facade in the style of the iconic Centrum building.
