Designed in 1902 by noted architect Ralph Adams Cram of Boston. Outside the church are statues which originally were part of Detroit's City Hall and were moved here when it was demolished in 1963. The statues are of four figures who played a role in Detroit's founnding: Antoine cadillac, Fr. Gabriel Richard, Fr. Pere Marquette and Sieur de LaSalle.
