Roebuck Hall is one of UCD's on-campus student residences. It comprises three storeys over a basement, with the upper floors serviced by an old-fashioned elevator with manually operated doors. The building looks over a courtyard that is said to be the site of a former graveyard in which nuns who used to inhabit the surrounding buildings, are buried. Interestingly, there have been a number of reported sightings of a ghost or ghosts on the top floor of Roebuck Hall by more than one student, such sightings happening at various times over a span of several years.
