Superfund site, former location of Tex-Tin Corp., a copper and tin smelting plant that operated here from 1941 to 1989. The site is now owned (as of 2010) by Texas City Terminal, a joint-owned short line (between BNSF and Union Pacific) which plans to use it as a railyard expansion, but current land use shows something different.
