Luxury hotel established in 1962. The historic Main Wing was an icon of Japanese modernist design. The South Wing was added in 1973. The Main Wing was demolished in 2015 and replaced with two new towers, containing hotel rooms and offices, which will open in 2019, in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
