The Walled City of Lahore, also known as the Old City, or Anderoon Shehr (اندرون شهر), is the section of Lahore, Pakistan that was fortified by a city wall during the Mughal era. Much of the wall remains intact today.
Lahore was always an important city from hudreds and thousands of years. But it gained its fame especially after the mughals came here. Mughal emporers built a lot of beautiful architectures here. Shah Jehan loved Lahore and he built a beautiful fort here and also fortified the city. In the past, there use to be 13 entrances to the walled city of Lahore. These entrances were known as Derwaza.
The famous thirteen gates of Lahore include; Akbari Gate, Bhati Gate, Delhi Gate, Kashmiri Gate, Lohari Gate (also known as 'Lahori Gate'), Masti Gate, Mochi Gate, Mori Gate, Roshnai Gate, Shahalmi Gate, Shairanwala Gate, Taxali Gate, Yakki Gate.
It is a city of colors and food. Lahoris love the narrow streets of the ciy. high rise houses in these small street looks amazing. people are funloving and open hearted.

  • This article needs some correction. The Lahore fort was not built by Shah Jehan, Shah Jahan just contributed in its maintenance and built a few buildings in it. The fort has history of hundred year before Shah Jahan. It was Akber who rebuilt it with solid brick and extended it as it stands now. For reference see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahore_Fort
