Comments

  • Why was the station abandoned?
  • The Orange Line was rebuilt and moved to a route along a commuter rail RoW. At the time the Orange Line consisted of a deteriorating elevated structure.
  • THE ORANGE LINE LEAVING THE OLD EVERETT STATION GAVE A GREAT VIEW OF THE VARIOUS EQUIPMENT IN THE EVERETT SHOPS AWAITING REPAIR. SOMETIMES YOU COULD CATCH A FULLY REPAINTED STREETCAR, BUS, TRACKLESS TROLLEY OR AN ORANGE LINE CAR WAITING TO BE RETURNED TO SERVICE. UP TO EARLY 60'S THERE WAS THE SCRAP TRACK WHICH WAS VERY VISIBLE FROM THE ORANGE LINE EL TRACKS FROM EVERETT TO SULLIVAN STATION. NOW EVERETT IS BUS AND TRACKLESS.
