Named for the four ranchers who created the Stampede, the Big Four building was originally used for curling (still holds the Guinness World Record for the most indoor curling sheets, 48). The sheets were removed in 1988 to facilitate a media location for the Winter Olympics and were never re-installed. Between 1988 and June 2008 it was the home of the Stampede Casino. Recently it was re-imagined as the Big Four Roadhouse, a live music venue.
