Run School was originally located at Three Chopt Rd., a short distance west of Cox Rd. Deep Run School opened in 1902. It replaced Stand Spring School that had been destroyed by fire the previous year. Deep Run was in use until 1911 offering 7 grades of instruction. It was a two room frame schoolhouse with a metal roof and entrance foyer. A center folding wall that separated the two rooms. The center wall would be folded to create one large room where square dances were held weekly for the entire community. The school had 14 windows that provided natural lighting. Separate wood stoves in each room. Water was provided from a well on the grounds and a privy was located outside. The school closed in 1911 when Short Pump School opened. The two room schoolhouse was divided into 4 rooms and used as a private residence for many years. 1996 the schoolhouse was moved to a small park next to Short Pump Elementary School.
2002 A new High School opened as Deep Run High School at Twin Hickory Rd, in the Glen Allen area.
