Site of the premier small arms manufacturing complex in France. Getting its start in the 18th century, it later became a hub of arms production for the revolutionary and post revolutionary armies. Became known for its branded post World War 1 weapons such as a MAS 38 sub-machine gun, MAS 49/52 battle rifle and FMAS assault rifle.
The facility was closed in 2002 and later redeveloped into a school of design.
