Northwest Plaza was once the largest mall in St. Louis until the coming of St. Louis Mills in 2003. Built in the 1960s and enclosed in 1989, it went downhill and eventually closed in 2010-2011. Most of the mall was demolished for new development, but a small portion of the old mall was recycled into office space.

  • Was there today (06/14/11) and it is indeed a wasteland. A sure sign of lack of traffic is grass growing though cracks in the pavement. Lots of that in the parking lot. There were cars parked in front of the office tower, though. Entirely too much retail space going unused, to be sure.
