Davie shipyards (Lévis)

The work-site of the Industries Davie, situated on the shore south of the Saint Lawrence, to Lévis, opposite Quebec, was been founded in 1825 by the captain Allison Davie, a builder of sailing ship to square rigging and of vessels to vapor intend for the navigation on the river. Of a generation to the other, the workers carried out with successes the transition of the sail to the vapor, wood to the steel, adopting new technologies to satisfy again needs.

The Industries Davie carried out the construction, the conversion and the repair of oil ones, of freighters, of trawlers, of ferries, of war vessels and of drilling platforms offshore.
