Totsukawa Onsen is a hot spring located in Nara Prefecture’s Yoshino-gun, Totsukawa-mura village. Totsukawa-mura is Japan’s largest village located in the deep mountains and there are no trains running to the area. Totsukawa hot spring, located in this unexplored region, was discovered by charcoal workers during the Genroku era (1688-1704) and there are many inns and shops around the hot spring area. There are 25 inns and bathing facilities including Onsenchi Onsen hot spring and Kamiyu Onsen hot spring, all using hot spring water directly from the flow source.

The water of Totsukawa Onsen hot spring contains sodium hydrogen carbonate and is said to be good for healing cuts and burns.
