Loess Hills Wind Energy Center is a wind farm located 1 mile west of the town of Rock Port, Missouri. Commissioned in 2008, it consists of 4 Suzlon S64/1250 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 5 MW.
Although it is a small wind farm, Loess Hills garnered national and international attention because it produces more power for the town of Rock Port than the town and its residents use. Therefore, Rock Port has been called the first 100% wind powered town in America.
