The westernmost part of the Lithuanian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), where the bottom of the Baltic Sea reaches a depth of 60 to 130 meters. The Lithuanian EEZ borders the Swedish EEZ. Considered a dangerous area due to the post-Second World Soviet sinking of German chemical weapons. After the war, about 40-55 thousand tons of chemical weapons ammunition containing approximately 13 thousand tons of toxic substances were buried in the Baltic Sea.
