4-story Neo-Grec theater building originally completed in 1831 as a 3-story townhouse for Albert Whittemore. It was raised to four floors with a new roof cornice in the 1870s. It was extensively remodeled in 1926 by Robert Gottlieb in a conversion to apartments, adding a fourth floor, and a stucco front inset with colored tiles. Round arches were created above the square-headed windows, with tiles in the tympani. It was later converted into the Grove Street Playhouse, a children's theater, in 1968. The ground floor is occupied by Lederhosen German restaurant.
