  • Terminus of lines to Nottingham via Grantham and Sleaford. The station has 6 platforms.
  • I should have put something else: This station has a lot of platforms considering it has a regular service to Nottingham and a rarer service to London. I am guessing trains stand here for a long time.
  • The station has so many platforms due to grander times when the only way to get to the sea was by train. Even as late as the 1980's there were many long holiday specials that would come from the midlands to Skegness. These would stand in the platforms for long amounts of time many making use of the carrage sideings ouside the station as well. There used to be a Turntable and a Turning triangle (for loco's too big for the table) the land the Turntable was built on and the Goods Yard and platform 1 are now used for morrisons Car Park. The triangle was on the other side of the line.
