This is the bridge that, on July 19th, 1969, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) drunkenly drove off of into Poucha Pond. He swam free of the car, leaving Mary Jo Kopechne trapped in the vehicle, where she ultimately drowned.

Authorities were notified 10 hours after the incident.
