Former "Blemton Manor" estate of August Belmont, II c. 1865. Belmont was a trustee of the investment banking firm of Belmont & Co. and a trustee of the Bank for Savings of NYC. The house later became the Hempstead Elks Lodge before being demolished for the Country Estates Apartments.
